These Tips on Goal Setting Can Be the
Key to Making Your Dreams Come True

Goals

Does just the thought of goal planning overwhelm you? These simple tips on goal setting make the whole process easy and doable. Instead of avoiding goal setting, these ideas will have you writing out your goal list and acting on it before you even think about it.

As a spiritual female entrepreneur, you are meant to have goals to work toward. Spirit did not create you so you could stay stuck where you are. You know those ideas that come up in your mind repeatedly -- the ones where you say, “Wouldn’t it be great if I could . . .?” Many of these ideas are a glimpse of what is possible for you if you only put your mind to it. The Universe does not give you a desire for something without there being an opportunity for you to achieve it.

When you apply the following tips on goal setting, it will make the entire process of reaching for your dreams easy to put into practice. Why? Because it gives you a road map of what to do.

Simple Tips on Goal Setting

Trust Your Intuition – One of the most important things for you to do during the goal-setting process is to tap into your intuition or Higher Wisdom. Your Higher Self knows what is right for you. Let It guide you during the decision-making and planning processes and the action steps.

Align With Your Values – Your values are an important measuring stick as to what is important to you. When you set goals that are in alignment with your values, there is a greater likelihood that you will take the actions that are necessary for you to achieve them.

Values

Decide What You Don’t Want – Many women aren’t sure about what goals they want to set. But they are very clear about the things that they don’t like. One of the easiest tips on goal setting that can help you get some clarity is to pick a specific situation and write a list of everything you don’t like about it.

Decide What You Do Want – Now that you know what you don’t want, write a list of what you do want. For every item that you put on your “Don’t Want List,” write down what you want instead. For example, if you don’t want to struggle to pay your bills, write down that you want to have more than enough money to pay all your bills easily, on time, and with money left over.

When you have finished turning the negatives into positives, you will then be clear about your goal. See how easy it is when you use the right tips for goal setting?

Also, shred the list of what you don’t want. This is a symbolic gesture for you to let the Universe know that you aren’t going to think about it anymore.

Put Your Goal List on Paper – Another one of my top tips on goal setting is to write your goals down. Put your pen on the paper (or your fingers on the keyboard) and write down a detailed description of what your completed goal looks like. This forces you to consider every aspect of your goal. The Law of Success, which can accomplish seeming ‘miracles,’ does not work well with fuzzy thinking. Also, there have been studies that prove that you are more likely to achieve your goal when you write it down.

When you are planning your goal, be sure to make it a stretch, not a huge leap. Set your goal far enough away so you can be excited about it and motivated to achieve it. You don’t want to set it so far away that you are constantly filled with doubts.

One of the most important tips on setting goals is this --

goals must be written in the positive, not the negative.

Refer to it Often - Once you have written out your goal, refer to it on a regular basis. The more frequently you focus on it, the more energized you will become. It will also help you build your belief that your goal can really happen.

Create a Vision Board – A fun way to remind yourself of your goal is to create a vision board where you can see a visual representation of your completed goal. Make sure to put a picture of yourself on it so your brain connects the accomplished goal to you. Place it where you can see it often, so you remember what you are working toward.

Do Guided Imagery Meditation– Remember the detailed description you created? Use it to create a scenario in your mind of you already having achieved your goal. Feel the wonderful feeling of achieving what you have set out to accomplish. Express thanks to the Universe for manifesting your goal. Meditate on this at least once each day.

This is one of the most powerful tips on goal setting that I can offer you. It is the one that I personally use most frequently, and I have experienced amazing results from it.

Share Your Goal Carefully – It can be exciting to share your goal with other people. But another one of my important tips on goal setting is to share your goal with supporters, not Debbie Downers.

I’m sure you know some people who, if you share your new goal with them, will tell you every reason why you can’t achieve it. They will burst your bubble and may cause you to give up before you even begin. Stay away from them!

Share or Not Share

Share your goal with other goal-setters. These are people who know the power of setting and achieving goals, and they can be your biggest supporters. When you feel like giving up, they can tell you, “I believe in you. I know you can do it.” These are the people you want to hang around with!

Be Willing to Change Direction – When you first begin your goal-setting journey, you will have a general direction of where you are going. However, you will likely need to adjust or change course entirely. Be willing to do that. Otherwise, if you are so fixated on sticking with your original plan and you aren’t willing to be flexible, you might not achieve what you want.

Life is very interesting. There is a good chance that you will realize your goal in a way you never could have imagined. This is why it is so important to check in with your Divine Wisdom on a regular basis. It will let you know the perfect way for you to accomplish your goal.

Be Willing to Stick it Out – Even though these tips on goal setting will help you on your journey, you might have some rough spots along the way. Be willing to go the distance. If it takes longer than you thought to achieve what you want, so what? Just keep on moving along, learning, adjusting, and growing along the way. Eventually, if you keep your eye on your target, you will very likely get there.
